Purpose: A 1-mile run to spread the word about the nation’s only Census test (in Providence County, R.I.). All proceeds will go toward informing the public about the Census test and the local update of Census addresses being conducted by Central Falls.
Place: Central Falls, RI
Time: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018. Check-in: beginning at 8:30 a.m. at River Island Park, corner of High Street and River Street.
Co-Sponsors: City of Central Falls and Common Cause Rhode Island
Cost: $10 for adults; $20 for donors; $30 for sponsors (with $10 covering cost of student runners); Free for children 18 or younger.
Course: 1-mile course starts at River Island Park, heads south on High Street, west on Blackstone Street, south on Broad Street, ends at Jenks Park near Central Falls City Hall.
T-shirts: For all adults with paid registration and first fifty children who register online and check-in on morning of run.
Afterward: Central Falls Mayor James A. Diossa and Common Cause Rhode Island Executive Director John Marion will talk about the Census test, the local update of Census addresses and the 2020 Census, and they will answer questions about these important public matters.
